Standard lemonade is strictly uncarbonated water, sugar and lemons. The addition of grenadine makes for the traditional variant known as PINK lemonade. Recently companies have added grape and cranberry juices to produce pink lemonade, but back in our granmother's day it was strictly the addition of grenadine. Due to the additional sweetness of some of these juices, pink lemonade tends to be sweeter than standard lemonade

Pink Lemonade

Cranberry juice makes this lemonade recipe pink.
INGREDIENTS:
2 cups sugar

2 cups lemon juice
1 cup cranberry juice
PREPARATION:
Mix everything in a pitcher and stir until dissolved. Serve lemonade over ice.

If you are buying it, pink is usually flavoured with blackcurrang juice - although I have seen pink grapefruit added. I like the sound of the homemade cranberry recipie - but have not yet seen a shop bought version of this.
