No, as to the comment on infant baptism, the bible actually mentions whole families being baptized. Futher when Jesus says let the children come unto me, the Greek word means 'babes in arms.' Literally infants too small to toddel. Water baptism is practiced today as it was in apostolic times, although the Church has permitted some minor variations due to circumstance. Officially, full immersion is the preferred form, but water can be rare in some environments such as the desert or limited due to circumstances such as baptisms in prisons, so the Church recognizes intent in certain extreme circumstances. It isn't a legalistic concept, but where possible and it is rarely not possible, baptism should be in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and with water preferably by immersion.

It is true that the catholic church practices water baptism. I believe if we look closely at their practice of baptism, though, we will see that they have changed some things in regard to how it was originally administered in the early church.

First, we have NO record whatsoever of baptism being performed on infants who were not capable of making a conscious commitment to Jesus as Lord. Therefore, the practice of infant baptism is a change from the original pattern.

Second, the original form of baptism was one of total immersion under water. This was similar to the ceremonial type baptisms that were performed in Jewish tradition. If you will look at Acts chapter 8 you will see in the story of the Ethipian eunuch, "Look here is water. Why shouldn't I be baptized? Then both Phillip and the eunuch WENT DOWN INTO THE WATER and Phillip baptized him. When they CAME UP OUT OF THE WATER the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Phillip away."

So yes they practice water baptism, but yes they have changed baptism in 1) infant baptism and 2) sprinkling rather than immersion.

No. Water baptism is still administered in the Catholic Church today as it was administered in the Catholic Church during apostolic times, using the Trinitarian formula and either pouring of water or immersion. Since the Catholic Church was the original Christian Church, and since the Catholic Church has not changed its form of baptism since the very beginning, any changes that have been made were obviously changes FROM the original practice of the Christian Church.

We are to be baptized with the same baptism Yahshua had! Baptism according to Yahweh's Way was instituted long before Yahshua Messiah was born of the virgin Miriam, and it continues through this present day for Yahweh's people. What was Yahshua's baptism? Can one be baptized incorrectly? By whose authority are we baptized? Into what name are we baptized? When do we receive Yahweh's Holy Spirit?

Like every other basic truth in the Holy Scriptures, the truths concerning baptism have been substituted with many counterfeits. Not only has the true meaning of baptism been lost, but the true reason and the only way to be baptized to receive Yahweh's Holy Spirit has also been lost. Yahweh ordained baptism for a holy purpose. When we study all the Scriptures on the subject of baptism, we can know the purpose and plan Yahweh ordained. Yahshua our Savior said, ``Broad is the way which leads to destruction''. Few seem to believe these words our Savior spoke. Even fewer believe the next words of our Savior.

Mattithyah 4:4—
But He answered, and said; It is written: Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahweh.

Why must we live by (practice) every Word of Yahweh? Because living by His every Word is the only way to eternal life.

Mattithyah 7:14—
Because straight is the gate, and narrow is the way which leads to life, and few there are who find it.

Yahweh's Way is the only way to perfect peace and true joy! Because His Way is the only way, Yahweh is very strict about His people keeping His Word, which are the words of the Holy Scriptures.

Mattithyah 7:13—
Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who go that way.

One would think, after reading the above Scriptures, and seeing that one's eternal life depends upon living by the every Word of Yahweh, that man would have been afraid to have altered such a vital doctrine as baptism.

Despite this, we find dozens of different teachings concerning baptism in the churches and assemblies today. All of their teachings are different from the instruction Yahweh gives.

Since the head of the Catholic Church is and always will be Jesus Christ himself, and since Jesus promised to guide and keep his church until he comes back for it at the end of the age, does it really matter?

Furthermore, based on the very limited treatment this subject is given in scripture, how could anyone living today, know for sure?
