Moisture in the ear can promote ear infections. Clean water from a shower is usually okay, but beware of bath or pool water.

So where is an ear, nose, and throat doctor pointing out the perils of having squeaky clean ear canals? Ear wax is there for a reason, and if you keep your ears constantly clean of it you will open yourself up to all sorts of ear infections and such. Not to mention the dangers of jamming things in your ears to clean it out... there is a reason Q-Tips say "Do not insert into ear canal" on the package...

I expect it is common in the ones you put inside your ears, but only if you share them around a lot (i.e. hey, you gotta listen to this song..... to every Tom, Dick and Harry) or if you have a big family and are borrowing them from each other all the time! Hint, check the person's ears out b4 deciding to lend them!!

when you think about it dogs with large floppy ears are prone to this its all to do with the built up heat and the moiture trapped within so just remember to dry your ears with a bud each time youve used them
