No. I don't think that it's right, I find it rude. I really try to acknowledge them if I'm giving them change or not. I always think of that person as someones child, brother, sister, etc.
I always remember that it could be me or someone I care about if it weren't for a different set of circumstances. It is written in the bible "The poor will be with us always", so this is something that we can't ignore.
What a few dedicated people are doing is trying to enhance the services available to the homeless, recognising and assisting those in crisis before they become homeless.
Why is it that in school we're taught about the planets, the insides of a frog and other things that haven't had much practice as applicable things in our lives, but we aren't taught the potential warning signs of mental illness or how to balance a check book...?

I don't know that's it's right to ignore a homeless person. However, I think that people don't realized that homless people aren't exactly as helpless as they think they are. There are a lot of shelters and programs out there to help get homeless people back on their feet. I personally work for one that trains homeless people in job skills. We set them up with food a place to stay, a savings account, employment specialists, rehab programs, etc. This is all free to them while they're going through our training program. Since I've been working for this organization I find it infuriating to see homeless people begging for some change when they can just walk into our door and help themselves. I'm very proud of the homeless people I work with. They're taking their own life into their hands and making it better. I don't feel bad for the guy on the street that is perfectly capible of getting a job with some help, that's just sitting their begging for change.

The question brings to lite two recent rulings of substance. Both rulings
were pronounced by the United Nations councils of Peace after extensive
studies of world economic plans. First of all, homeless is now in general
a matter of church of translation property. Aliens are not entitled to beg.
Begging is the first issue, if they are commonly known to yourself such as
a person with personality or retardations making them public poor they
are allowed to ask, though the place is supposed to be a public clear, and
christian or religious facility. This new attempt to get the danger down in
begging situations is very real with some foreign people using it to spy.
That is the first condition to be reasonable, what do these poor do all day?

I don't think that it's always a moral issue. Many homeless individuals suffer from mental illness and drug addiction. Interaction with them can be dangerous. If you feel compelled to help the homeless, it is best to find a constructive place to serve, such as a soup kitchen or local church.
I am not suggesting that anyone is "wrong" for giving homeless people money on the street, but I would encourage people who care for the homeless to focus their time and energy in a safe, constructive way that truly benefits the homeless community.

No I don't think it is right to ignore a HUMAN BEING no matter if they are homeless that is the situation they are in. On top of it I don't think they ever get use to the fact that they have to humiliate and humble themselves to ask ppl for change. We should show every person that we come in contact with respect. It is not humane to say "get a job" or "bum" or any other remark that is demeaning. These are ppl that were just like you and I at one time and what ever hardships they are going through whether addictions or otherwise we should not beat them up anymore than what they have done to themselves.

if they seem to pose a physical threat or are downright rude then by all means you can ignore them. I've offered work and food before and have both been given thanks and disdain. I have given change but some use it to buy alcohol or drugs so be forewarned! Regardless of position in life, how would you like to be approached? Then respond in the same fashion. Thats all i try to do.
good luck

Yes. I view given change to homeless people as equivalent to feeding rats. If you had a rat in your neighborhood and started to feed it, soon more rats would migrate into the area. I hope that if I ignore them they might go to another area.

Honestly it depends on my mood. I've smiled politely and said sorry and been called a b*tch, I've given change, and I've ignored them. Possibly all in one day. As long as I cover all bases regularly, I don't feel bad about ignoring or any other reaction.
