Has anyone had any successful cover-ups that don't look smudged or real dark? I have a butterfly that got infected when I first received it and it has been ruined since then. I want to cover up but don't want it to be worse than it is. Please help me!!!

Cover ups are good, and I would recommend going to a professional artist!!! Things to remember when you have one covered up is that you will be limited in your choice of colors and designs!!! You can't use light colors over darker colors and you can't put a smaller new design over a larger old one. Sometimes depending on how bad it is...an Artist can use what you already have and redo the whole thing. I sent you 2 websites that has some excellent cover-ups for you to look at...so you might know what your getting into and give you some thoughts of your own.

cover-ups can be done beautifully and it it possible for nobody to ever know there was another less beautiful tattoo there in the first place. do your research. find an actual "artist" to custom design a cover up just for you. not every person who tattoos is good at it. i had a mushroom (dumb college mistake tattoo) covered up with a koi fish and it is beautiful. i am now in the process of having a dragon covered with a sea turtle and am extremely satisfied. BUT i did alot of research and found an artist that i trust and have actually become great friends with him. follow your instincts. check out the artist's portfolio and you must take care of your tattoo afterward. wash it and keep it clean and from drying out. an infection can ruin even a beautiful tattoo.

I have *under no circumstances* heard of a tattoo parlor doing transitority tattoos. I do not suppose this sort of factor exists, apart from henna (wherein you are frequently restrained to browns and reds) and the ones candy lick-on ones you acquired as a child.

Have it lasered then when healed look for a tatt that will hide the much smaller laser mark , don't use a lot of colors in your tatt
