No, but the Christians have to say that they would - otherwise they would have a hard time converting others to their faith, if becoming a Christian meant you had to take the risk of going to hell, in addition to losing the benefits of certain types of sin, just to be sure of going to a heaven that you would have gone to anyway of you had never heard of Jesus, and especially if you had the option of not accepting Jesus as a savior.
So to narrow those options, the story had to be that all who had come before would more than likely go to hell as an unfortunate fact of life, and apparently that included all those from Adam and Eve up to the time Jesus was able to make himself heard. A bit nonsensical, but hey, whatever works.

O.K., here is "an" Answer:
The Bible says that a man won't have any Excuse in not Believing in a Higher Power. Mainly by Looking Around at the World around us, trees, sun, moon, how things work (leaf on a tree, veins in the leaf etc),natural things on this Earth---just didn't happen on their own.
Once the mind is open to the Possibility that Somebody Just might have Made all of this Stuff, THEN GOD can work in that persons Life and Mind.
The Old Testament was Replaced by the New Testament---GOD can Change the Way HE Deals with Mankind, we don't Really know What HE used it the Way Past.
GOD has Secrets, yep, HE Does!

I am a christian. Sorry I can't answer that question. If you read John 14:6 It says that Jesus is the only way. But the bible also says the only sin that cannot be forgiven is rejecting Jesus, those people who havn't heard havn't reject Jesus.
On Judgement day, God will do what is right. They go to hell or they may go to heaven. Until Judgement day we don't really know. If they go to hell, who are you to say God is mean. He is the creator and no one deserves to go to heaven for we all have sinned.

Just remember that God is JUST and TRUE and FAIR and LOVING. The Bible says that it is His desire that none parish. He will give all man the chance, even in death. Besides, they all know in some fashion that there is a God, the beauty of this world reflects Him. His Spirit is here tugging on the hearts of men. I have heard many missionary stories where they have presented the gospel...which means 'good news' .....and in their hearts, the people already had a sense of this truth.

no, there is a clause in scripture that basically says that you are not responsible for what you do not know.
Now then if you are part of a remote group of people who have never heard of Jesus or more likely a person that has heard of Jesus but it was in a context of hatred or damnation not love and forgiveness, you are still responsible for living a life that is loving, merciful, caring and forgiving. This responsibility comes fron the conviction of the Spirit of God in each of us whic manifests itself in guilt, shame, and conscience.

If God is who He claimed to be the Infinite God then God in all His wisdom will make it possible for every man to know Him through His creation. For example, God spoke to Abraham, was no missionary back then.

Doesn't seem fair doesn't it. My answer is no. I know this because I believe that even after death they will be given a chance to be taught about and accept Christ before being judged. yes this does mean that we won't be judged right after death. But, if we were, there would be no hope for anyone. After we die We are given the chance to accept Christ one last time if we haven't or teach about him if we have. God is just, sending billions to hell because they never heard of Christ isn't.

The natural law is written in everybody's hearts so the conscience knows when its doing good or evil. So if a person goes through life not knowing about Christ (which is very rare) that person can still make it to heaven if the good deeds outweigh the evil ones. This is Catholic teaching.

You go to either heaven or hell based on the state of your soul when you die. If you are looking for the truth, and trying to live a moral life, and just have never heard of Jesus...then yes you can go to heaven.
