There's good, and bad, reasons for every season.
Summer: The weather is nice, just about every flower is in season, and the sun is shining nicely for outdoor pictures and parties. For summer, you want pastel or light colors. On the other hand, it can be way too hot for an outdoor wedding, and many prices are higher in the summer just because that's when most people get married.
Fall: The colors are amazing in fall. It isn't too cold yet, and prices are starting to drop. Most of the more unique weddings I've seen were in the fall; less "weddingish" and no pastel colors like for summer or spring. However, fall weather can be surprising wet and cold one weekend, even if the previous weekend was warm and sunny.
Winter: A lot of places are already decorated, and again the darker colors can look very elegant. Prices are usually at rock-bottom during this season so long as you don't get married on Christmas or New Years. Winter wonderland weddings are very nice. But it might end up with a blizzard, and driving conditions can limit how many people come, even if they had RSVP'd, and many out of town guests won't make it.
Spring: Again, light colors. Flowers are coming into bloom again, and the weather is neither too hot or too cold. However, prices are rising a bit again, and the weather can be surprising.
I got married in the spring. I prefer fall or spring weddings; if I had planned one for the summer, mine would have been one of many weddings going on amongst people I knew.

Autumn, because October can be a beautiful month, we had the best weather then, it was warm and sunny without being sweaty and hot, I don't want to have a wedding in the height of summer, when everyone is uncomfortable in their suits or dresses, sweating everywhere, red shiny faces in the pictures, I get frustrated in the heat and would be miserable, also everything is more expensive in summer, room hire charges go up as it is considered "wedding season".

During Fall because it is not that cold and not too warm, plus the colors of Fall are an amazing contrast to a wedding gown and great colors for a Wedding, they are easily combined, venues are not that expensive and it is a great way to cheer people up during a season that is normally not that cheerful (except for halloween), romance is in the air and sunsets are more beautiful.
If I had to choose another season I would choose spring, just for the romance of it, new flowers are in bloom and the weather is great, if you avoid may showers.

during the fall, the foliage is simply breath-taking
if yopu plan it right---it is not too chilly, you do not have to worry too much of an air-conditioned church
and if you are having an outdoor wedding, you get your own personal 'breeze' while strolling down the aisle, the sunsets are even more dramatic, the sound of walking through fallen leaves bring back joyous memories of when you were a child (for some), and if you can link being happy as a child to one of your happiest accomplishments (marrying the one you love) then both memories are stronger, you will feel as if he was with you always, and you will certainly smile
great i'm rambling
congrats

I would prefer to have a wedding in the spring time. Spring time is not too hot and not to cool, it's usually the right temperature. Spring time also has some great colors and flowers to choose from when planning.

Autumn...actually in 15 days to be exact! Because, here in Texas summer and spring are too hot. The winter has a possiblity of being too cold. However, it's always a guess with Texas weather.

We were just married in Autumn, and it was great.
1) The weather is perfect--not too hot, not too cold.
2) Easier for people to travel--it's not exactly the time a lot of people ask for vacation!
3) Not a holiday season--June/July/August have the HIGHEST price tags!

Any time BUT Christmas/winter holiday time.
You can add an additional 30-40% to schedule caterers/halls/rentals during this high activity time...and most guest have allocated any disposable income towards family gifts, not wedding garb/expenses.
I vote for May!

May is the best month. Weather is mild, not too hot nor too cold. The occasional spring showers are gone. There is an abundant of flower choices.
But always check the climate and weather pattern for any location where you will have the wedding.
