Because if you're old enough to go to war and die, then you should be able to get a little **** faced.

Back when I was 17 and to young to vote by 1 stinkin year they raised the drinking age in Michigan to 21. Now if all the 18 yo that were able to vote and did then it would not have made it. Voter appathy in this country sucks. I don't see the drinking age dropping to 18 anytime soon.

Because if you can fight for our country, putting your life on the line, you should be able to crack open a beer after. Because if you are considered to be responsible enough to vote and choose our leaders, you should be considered responsible enough to have a glass of wine at dinner. Because if you can drive a car, buy a house, have credit cards, and be financially and legally responsible in every other area of life, you should be responsible for this decision as well. Consistency is the issue for me.
Also, in countries where the legal age is lower, and responsible, reasonable drinking is more accepted at a younger age, there seems to be less tendency towards binge drinking and deaths due to drunk driving and alcohol poisoning.

because 21 is too old and in the whole world the drinking age is 18... people still drink under 21 and so it might as well be lowered to 18... TO ALL THOSE WHO SAY IT SHOULDN'T BE LOWERED AND SAY THAT ALL THAT CRAP, YOU DID IT. YOU WAS A TEEN ONCE AND DRUNK, I'M 100% SURE YOU DID, SO CUT THE CRAP...

I live in the UK, you probably already know the drinking age is already 18 but according to news reports we have more binge drinkers here than anywhere in Europe.

I'm not sure if that has to do with the actual age or the education surrounding alcohol but I don't really see that 3 more years would make any difference. Lets face it, for guys at least its not like they're any more mentally mature.

Because:
There are no effects any worse to the brain than if you are 21 that excuse is bull...the brain is devloped enough to withstand the alcohol.Read current news.
You can go to war
It would help with underage drinking....They can buy it,why sneak around?
Taxes would help with the national deficit
You can smoke
You can vote
Problems with drunk driving fateality in teens would decrease so those of you that say it would not are misinformed
You can buy a house and get married

18 is not kids...they are legally adults.they have every other right. Untill you actually know solid reasons besides your opinons...keep your mouth shut...I would talk about your thoughts if you had facts to back them up.stop acting like young people are stupid jerks that are clueless

If you are given the right to vote and you are old enough to die for this country then why shouldn't you be old enough to drink right? That seems logical but... I don't suggest the drinking of course. I would never suggest drinking to someone that young. Drinking can get you into a lot of trouble. When you are older an occasional drink is all you should have. Never drink to get drunk. That's childish.

Studies have shown how the teenage brain isn't completely formed and prone to making irrational decisions. Therefore, lowering the legal drinking age to 18 would be disasterous and stupid.

yes it should because if people feel you are old enough to vote, get married, fight in wars, gamble, and buy ciggerettes you should beable to handle some beer responsibly. SMOKING is WAY more harmful to your body...besides everyone under 21 drinks just go to a college campus on saturday nights...just legalize it!
