Ridicule: You ridicule your brother for catching a STD from a supermodel. Again.. not fear related.

Nice try Mr Watcher, but people don't see it. Calling people names doesn't help them see the truth. Anger isn't JUST fear, it's fear plus helplessness. Skepticism and ridicule are clever disguises for fear, so you can't very well expect that skeptics who like to ridicule will ever admit it. Unless you bring them to the realization gently. They're already scared. Calling them names makes them more scared.

I don't think so. I think people get angry, skeptical and start to ridicule others so they feel better about themselves. Sometimes because they know they are wrong. Other times simply because they have low self esteem. Other times, because ridiculing other allows one to not have to take too close a look at oneself.
