It depends on the size of your sensor (how many megapixels it is). I have a 3 megapixel and a 6 megapixel. Images taken at top quality in the largest size on the 3 megapixel are usually around 1.5 megabytes, and on the 6 megapixel around 3 to 3.5 (I can't quite remember for sure) megabytes. You should be able to work out roughly how big the files are for different megapixels from that. I hope that helped.
P.S. Once you've got them on the computer you can find out how big your files are by right-clicking (this is for a P.C. I don't know about Macs) on the photo, then clicking Properties and it will tell you the size.

Sony has cameras that go from 3 to 10 mega-pixels and the jpg file sizes vary accordingly. The answer will be somewhere between 200KB and 6MP.
Look up your specific model here: http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_...
The specifications page for every camera lists the approximate file sizes.

It all depends on the model of camera and how many megapixels it has.
Any particular model you had in mind?
