Something totally off topic that you can go and do together. Some kind of one-of lesson, or experience that will make you both laugh on the day. Its the gift that keeps on giving (lol corny) because afterwards you can both refer back to it in conversation, together or with your friends, as something you tried together and had a good laugh doing together. Don't forget to take your camera!
So it depends what you can find to do that is local to where you live. And affordable. Some kind of costume photo portrait where you go and choose lame costumes and some bozo takes your picture together. A circus lesson for two. A trip to a fortune teller or one of those guys that photographs your aura and tells you what it all means. Or just an afternoon in eachothers company in your own backyard with some canvas and paint (even if you're both TERRIBLE artists doesn't matter, just fill it up and cover it with mess together). Later on, when you have a few dollars, frame it for her and MAKE her hang it somewhere at home.
Blah blah blah lol
Have fun and cherish the laughter.
Love from A

can you sew? i had a lady come into work and she was embroidering a cushion cover for her mum, she showed it to me when she was finished and it was beautiful. Mums being mums she will probably love anything you give her. How bout a book of memories? sappy I know but something mums love. I made one for mum about 2 years ago, I wrote some poetry, found some on the internet, wrote stories of fond memories with her and added pictures of the 2 of us spanning my life. It turned out reallypretty, and she cried for an hour! (for good reasons not bad) so thats a sweet thing and all mums love to know they are appreciated

Take her out for a spa day, and then take her to lunch...her choice. Have a "girls day out" kind of thing.
