The standard Body Mass Index calculations indicate that a 5'5" male should weigh 136 pounds (plus or minus 14 pounds or so).

However, the BMI is just a generalization. It doesn't account for your body frame size. Take a look at your wrist and compare it to other guys of your age. Measure the wideth across the two bones right below the hand. You will notice that some guys have wrists that are much wider than other guys. Their shoulders are probably wider as well.

So, without knowing your frame type, it is difficult to give an accurate number. Another factor is in regards to how much work you have your body do. If you are just sitting in class and then ride the bus home and watch TV all night before going to bed, you aren't going to have much muscle mass. But if you bicycle to school, lift weights and keep active, the chances are that if you are eating right, you will pack on some muscle mass.

So, a better guide to whether your weight is proper is by checking how much fat you are carrying. If you can clearly see your 6 pack through the skin of your stomach, then your weight is probably just fine. Unless of course you can clearly see your ribs. Then you are probably not carrying enough muscle mass.
