when they talk of dogs being better than cats, hardly any sounds better. This is why i think cats are better.
they don't meow at everything that moves.
They don't kill people. (baby death by cats is a myth)
They are strongly independent. They will come whenever they want, they are ok when alone.
They know what food is theirs. They ain't messy eaters either.
You don't have to clean up their turds in the backyard, just in the litterbox. Which i find easier and not bad at all.
They don't need to do tricks, they are independent thinkers. That is why i love 'em.
They don't trash the entire house.
They don't chase wheels. they playfully chase your heels.
Kittens are fun and playful, adult cats are more into solitude. Puppies are smelly and destructive. Adult dogs slaughters kids.
Cats don't need to do whatever a human says, dogs only do it because they are commanded. not because they wanted to.
so why is it that people wants to believe dogs are better? i prefer cats over dogs forever.

abigale, cats can love too. just like a human does. a dog love is just a mind of the doglover. dogs only look like they love you. hell they even destroy everything even when they are properly trained, trust me, i have dogs like that. when i got cats, i had no problems.

I love both.
Dogs are sweet and loyal and bark to scare off potential robbers etc, will attack someone to protect you. They don't feel the burning need to bring you presents in the form of live lizards, mice, birds etc.
But let's say you want to take a 3 day vaca. Fido needs someone to hang out with him, feed him and take him out to go to the bathroom.
Cats are given a bad rap as being too independent.
Mine gets up on my bed and paws my arm softly out from under the pillow to climb under it so I can hug him. If I hit the snooze bar on a work day he licks my face and paws my hair to get me up, then he climbs up my torso with his front paws so I can carry him to the kitchen with me while I give him a good scratch.
Taking a 3 day vaca? Kitties need no outside help. (I would hesitate if I only had one)
Provide a big bowl of crunchies, a big bowl of water and a clean litter box. (I also turn on the radio or tv) After that yer good to go, they'll be fine. Major plus!

Man's best friend and all that crap. Maybe cause a dog will protect you if he is loyal. But most people I know prefer cats and my big orange tabby has jumped out of a second story window just to chase a dog out of the yard. Cats Rock!

Why I think dogs are better:
They're playful and fun.
They don't act like they own you.
They always love you.
Not all 'adult dogs' slaughter kids. I don't think my eight pound pekipoo is going to be killing anyone any time in the near future.
You can hear them coming, and they don't scare the crud out of you.
"Dogs come when you call. Cats have answering machines."
