Lots of things come to mind, some of which were already said, but 1) make sure you are getting adequate sleep (adolescents may need up to 10 hrs/night), 2) Cut the junk food and increase water, fresh fruits/veggies, 3) exercise...find the ones you like and maybe even do it with a regular partner, this leads to 4) finding and/or strengthening relationships; groups/cliques can behave like idiots but a person (singular) can be a wonderful source of support, 5) do something that is meaningful to you; nourish your soul; maybe volunteering, getting involved in a local issue/campaign, build with Habitat, sing in a community chorus, learn a new skill, 6) keep yourself surrounded with beautiful things like music, art, poetry, books, nature, colorful clothes and decor, good food....treat your senses, 7) be aware of who you spend your time with and don't let yourself get dragged into their pettyness or negativity and 8) yes, if need be, get involved in a counseling relationship.
The important thing to remember is that everyone goes through cycles, especially at certain periods of their life (like adolescence) and that there is light, lots of good, decent people and plenty of life at the end of this tunnel.

It's totally normal for an adolescent to get bouts of depression, it's part of growing up. There are so many changes going on in a teenager's body that imbalances occur that can even throw your mind out of whack sometimes. At 14 you're only in the beginning of adolescence which can be the most dangerous for those who have no mechanism for some self-control. The big thing to watch out for is becoming emo!!! Seriously though, unless it continues consistently for 2 weeks just let it run it's course and be careful.

Sometimes there dosen't need to be a reason to be depressed. There are some illnesses that cause the brain to do this, not you. I know first hand about when you say today's society because I have been diagnosed with depression and there are alot of people out there that don't understand unless they go through it. Don't worry though there are alot of people in this world like me that understand exactly what your going through. If you see that your depression is getting worse you need to talk to your parents and go to see your doctor.

sometimes at your age, kids can get the blues in a sense. i know i did when i was about your age. i would sit and cry for no reason. if your sadness lasts consistently for two weeks or so, i would see a doctor. there's nothing wrong with you. for some people, it is hereditary. good luck. also, maybe you just need something new in your life. try a new hobby or talk to someone new at school that you would not normally talk to. go shopping or whatever it takes to get yourself out of this rut. i am 22 and feel depressed sometimes, but usually only lasts two or three days.

At different situations the ideas that pressure low mood at the instantaneous are not efficient or precise. that is critical to charm to close which ideas reason the sadness and in the adventure that they are an precise mirrored image of the problem. How then can we stumble on out how precise our ideas are? a good commence is to imagine in certain words about the evidence that helps a idea or idea. If there's no evidence, what else might want to to be authentic? If there's no evidence to help a idea that prompts sadness it really is accessible that there are wondering mistakes in wondering habit. In melancholy, black and white wondering, emotional reasoning, predicting, catastrophising and recommendations examining are difficulty-loose. Low shallowness and negative self-self assurance may also impact mood. yet another interest is state dependant reminiscence, that is the ideas's tendency to keep in mind issues from an same state. subsequently, when we are chuffed we are more effective in all chance to imagine of chuffed issues and when we are unhappy we are more effective in all chance to keep in mind activities when we were unhappy. that is critical to make the authentic, functional, differences the position accessible. even as replace isn't accessible, do not characteristic the priority to a personality flaw. Be purpose and connect reason and result without irrelevant blame. keep in mind that, even as depressed, there is an inclination to be self-severe. even though it really is amazingly puzzling to stop unsightly and unhelpful ideas altogether, it really is accessible to nicely perfect them with more effective efficient ones. even as human beings change into depressed they might stop doing the failings that make us all chuffed and nicely. Even at situations even as motivation is negative that is critical to devour nicely ,sleep nicely, workout and secure positive friendships.

Sometimes depression is cause by a chemical imbalance, It's not your fault, tell your parents & see your doctor. Your hormones may also have something to do with it as well because teen age years are really difficult years. Sometimes medication can really be helpful. Good luck. I've been there, take my meds, & I'm doing well.
