Pretend you're back home practicing and just doing your thing. Be confident and believe in yourself. If you think you can do it then you're right! You can.

Ok first take a few breaths, if you really want to do this then show everyone you want to. The best performance information I ever received was from my Director "Be Fearless" .. he said even if you are the worst singer, or dancer go out there audition like you think you are great, and just for that you will get respect from that director.. and if he likes you then you'll get the part, and if you Don't make it keep auditioning the best thing to have is consistency and perseverance. I get nervous every time I audition and I go to a HUGE school with lots of competition but I have still made most every show and if you don't make it I recommend working backstage on a crew, as well as taking theatre classes. I promise you it is so worth it.

even professionals get nervous in fact Barbara has terrible stage fright! hats one of the reasons she does only a concert every so often deep breathing actually helps and practice way before you try out make sure you've got the lines or song down pat

Just remember that everyone is there to see your preform and you wouldn't be there if you were a bad singer. I always drank a hot cup of tea before I got on stage, it helps to call you down.

Every person has a different technique for calming nerves.
Most people discover these different ways of calming themselves with practice doing many auditions.
One thing that has always helped me and some of my fellow musicians is to become a different you. -To become a different form of yourself, an arrogant I-am-the-best-singer-in-the-world person. To let yourself be cocky, stuck-up, arrogant... sometimes battles the nerves and some of the ways the competition tries to intimidate.

Well when your onstage pretend everyboy watching Is In their underwear. Something to take your mind off of the stage and concentrate on what your doing. laugh

Just remember to stay calm and concentrated. Don't put too much pressure on yourself and try to have fun with the audition.
