What an odd question. If you really think that the 2006 lifestyle and the 10 Commandments don't go together then i'd say there's something in your notion of todays lifestyle that needs lookin' at! If morals have deteriorated in modern days i'd say it aint the commandments that need to do the changing!

There are problems with the phrasing. "Who believes" is a leading question, since the commandments referred to are a part of particular religions (of which there are many in this world).
Beliefs are considerably different from actual reality. They are held, often sincerely, in the absence of rational argument and indeed often in the face of clear evidence to the contrary. So, whilst I may genuinely believe something, the mere fact that I believe it is of no great value.
The commandments you refer to are those of the jewish and christian religions (of which there are many variations) and appear in both the old and new testaments of the many versions of the "bible". They were written for the time and whilst they may still be pertinent today, they were not written by a god and are not absolute in any real sense.
However, whilst our behaviour should not be governed by "gods" or the ancient writings of past civilisations, we should behave in a decent way towards one another, because it improves the quality of life for all of us. Currently, religions are exerting the exact opposite effect on world society and have been doing so for many decades.
So, whilst I have a great deal of sympathy with the overwhelmingly sensible content of the commandments, I would prefer us to behave well because we choose to and not because of fear or otherwise of some none-exsitent god.

The 10 commandments are God's laws to live by until Christ's return to this earth. Can you imagine the chaos and mayhem! We need order in this world and we need to protect ourselves and those that cannot defend for themselves. And that is what God is accomplishing when He set His commandments knowing mans sinful heart. Could you imagine updating the commandments to 2006 lifestyle!
Actually, if you think about it ... "Thou shall not kill," "Thou shall not steal", just take out the 'not's' and for the rest of the commandments just do the opposite of what God told us to do and there you go 2006 lifestyle!

its not the commandments that need to be changed its the people... what part of the 10 commandments dont you like?. They are Gods word and they cannot be changed, youd be trying to justify something youve done wrong by doing that.

Rip van winkle, where have you been for the last 2000 years, the ten commandments were fulfilled and replaced by "LOVE GOD & LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THY SELF", 2000 years ago. The 2006 life style should conform to "Unconditional love". "God dwells within you as you",God is unconditional love.
