I'm a RN who has taught Nursing for over 20 years. Both of my parents died of cancer and I have experienced two kinds of cancer myself. There are several hospitals with excellent cancer departments but my vote goes to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America because of its multiple approaches to cancer including the necessary supportive nutrition. I normally would give atleast 3 possibilities but I feel so strongly about the care given and success rates at Cancer Treatment Centers of America that I list it by itself. You can reach them at:

Cancer in the brain?
In my observation, cancer is not equal cancer, and many things are called cancer since they multiply like cancer. A man obviously had a scar in his brain but medical means do not seem to distinguish between a scar and a tumor or cancer. He was told he had a brain tumor and got radiation in the center of his brain. I found out that he had been a boxer and must have had many scars all over his body. He died a painful death not too long after his brain was radiated.
Best is, I feel, to get a second and third opinion and see what others find out. There are also excellent natural clinics in Europe who treat these cases. May be the mild things can be tried first, before the hard things are applied?
Did you hear of the Breuss Book, Cancer and Other Incurable Illnesses Curable, printed in German? (Krebs und andere unheilbare Krankheiten mit natuerlichen Mitteln heilbar) He developed a program and said that in his experience the worse the cancer, the better the cure with his program. You get what it takes for the Breuss program in European Apothecaries.
Wishing you and your friend the very best decison.
