Alcohol is actually a preservative, so as long as its still sealed, and kept somewhere cool (but not too cold) it will last for ages!
Once opened it should usually be drunk within a couple of months. The taste can start to change, as well as the colour.. If you notice it going cloudy, or it doesn't taste right, then its time for the bin!

There is a bottle in our cupboard that has served us well since 1998 when I bought it and it was not out of date last time I had a glass in 2005. So at least 7 years... probably at least 10 years.

White rum, like Malibu, will keep for ages. The only spirits that have every gone off on me are: Pimms, Bailey's and Advocaat - so far.

on the same time as i do no longer completely be responsive to, and that i've got heard too that alcohol would not bypass undesirable, that's the belief-approximately ingesting 10 year previous Malibu that i does no longer do it. a sparkling bottle isn't that high priced, merely replace it.

I think as long as it has it's top on, someone will drink it. We had a bottle of advocaat in the cupboard since 1973 and I inherited it. I had a party and ran out of other drink but someone drank most of it and I don't think they suffered any ill effects!

Dont put it in the freezer. It will be "best kept" away from sunlight in a constant moderate temperature. A great place is the pantry or kitchen cupboard

check the best before date on the bottle or drink it when you open it and how long it lasts after opening is upto you.
