Firing order is not 1-2-3-4-5-6, as previously stated. This was the firing order used in the 60 degree engines (2.8, 3.1, 3.4). The firing order for your 4.3 would be as follows; 1-6-5-4-3-2, with the position on the distributor running clockwise. Here is a diagram to help you, with 1 and two being at the front of the engine, and one being on the driver's side.
2 4 6
O O O
O O O
1 3 5
On the distributor
O1 O6
O2 O 5
O3 O4
Hope this helps you out, firing orders can be very confusing, just remember, number one is on the drivers side, at the front of the engine.

if memory serves me correctly...the firing order is 123456...this may sound odd but look on the intake manifold...it is stamped on there.
Hope this helps.
