I live in a small Indiana town, the closest Starbucks, Borders, or Barnes and Noble is an hour away. We have a little coffee shop called Muggs, and the service is a bit slow, but their lattes are good. Too bad family owned businesses get snuffed out by franchises...the shop prolly won't be around for too long, it just opened up this summer.

I find that small town coffee shops have the BEST! It's better quality, and deal for the money. You save at least 50 cents for each drink, plus you still get a bigger size. Not to mention, your money is going to someone local and more deserving/needing that a national company. Our coffee shop in Pine City, MN has WAY more choices than say Starbucks!

Starbucks is good but SO expensive!
The cafe in the Williams & Griffins (UK) department store does the most delicious coffee though.

In the town I grew up in it was the Saltspring Island Roasting Company. Now that I've moved away, I still buy their beans, but it's just not the same.
