This guy i work with has been flirting with me for over a year. I've been flirting with him too, but i've only liked him in that way for a few months. I get the feeling he likes me and my workmate thought so too. He claims to be single. So why doesn't he make a move?

Also, he is always giving me compliments and helping me with stuff.

He gives me compliments on the way i look and tells me he'd be jealous if i were to get with this other guy. I don't know if he's just joking, though. When i've been off work, he asks me when i go back where i've been and said he was looking for me, but couldn't find me. I know it sounds like he does like me, but could there be another explanation?

Some guys won't make the first move. Sometimes they like the other person to be the aggressor! The only thing to do is ask, hey do you wanna go out sometime? Or when you are out with friends or something, call and say "hey some friends and I are where ever, do you wanna stop by for a bit?" That way its just not the two of you and he could feel uncomfortable. If you think he will be cool with just the two of you hanging out, I would just be straight up and step to the plate. The worst they can say is no. Thats when you say, well stop flirting with me then or just stop flirting in return, treat them like a co-worker, not a playmate. ;) Good Luck!

Most of the time a guy fails to make a move is because of 1. Fear of rejection
or 2. Already in a relationship.
I would bet it is one or the other.

Maybe he just enjoys his work more when he's being flirty. It makes a boring day a little more interesting. If he was truly interested or if he wanted to date a co-worker, he would have asked you out. He might, eventually, or he might not. Some people aren't keen on office romances.
