I notice a lot of bashing of Christianity on here....why? I'm not talking about repecting people's choice to believe what they want and having a different opinion, that's all good. I'm talking about out right bashing and blaspheming on here.

To all those who bash, is it due to:

1. hopelessness
2. jelousey
3. confusion
4. pureposelessness
5. a lack of knowledge

please put 1-5 as your answer, or just write "christian" if you are one

ok, Dr. C. that's what I'm talking about. Respectfully disagreeing is one thing....not just because you don't believe doesn't mean you blaspheme.....it's the bashing I was wondering about

someone said in their answer "Since when were you proclaimed rightful judge of all possible motives on behalf of some outstandingly touchy people anyway?"

When someone says "anyone who believes in God or Jesus is a ******* moron....that's bashing"

someone said this in their answer: "Some people will harass you for your beliefs-Christian or not. That's just life-deal with it! "

Why should ANYONE deal with it?

Christian.
All 5 things are true-
1. People aren't necessarily hopeless, but they feel the need to "shoot Christians down" (as I say it) because they feel God is inferior.
2- They aren't necessarily jealous either, but they feel (at least, other religious groups) that they need to be superior over other religions.
3- People are very confused. I have noticed lots of questions about "flaws" in the Bible. However, they never bother to find out exactly who the people are that have to do with it (eg. someone asked why we killed people from Molech or something. Molech is a demon.), or they never bother to find where God is a loving God.
4- People also just tend to spite Christians.
5- See reason for number 3, they go hand in hand.

6. None of the above.

With all due respect, the very wording of your question and the choices given are why many Christians are not given any respect. Why would anyone give respect to someone of any faith when that person does not give respect back? You claim that it is ok for others to have a different belief and you want people to respect you for having your beliefs but if you look at all of the "Christians" on here, many do not show respect to others and themselves BASH every other religion, atheist and agnostic on here with their dogma.

Respect is a two way street, if you want it, then you must give it. Having a different opinion, asking for proof of that which is unprovable, claiming another religion is true and saying there is no God, does not mean a Christian is being bashed.

When will Christians stop acting like martyrs?

There are people here who consider they've been "bashed" because someone politely disagrees with them, or observes that there are inconsistencies in the Bible.

Since when were you proclaimed rightful judge of all possible motives on behalf of some outstandingly touchy people anyway?

EDIT

No, that's not an answer. You have offered nothing but negative options. It's like asking "Is it okay to beat your wife--

a) when she flirts
b) when she loses her temper
c) whenever you feel like it"

Your question is absurdly loaded. I don't see many answers along the lines of what you put on this forum. One or two trolls at most. The rest offer considered answers to people who quite often are looking for someone who agrees with them anyway.

My rhetorical question proposes that you do NOT have the right to limit the possible motivations of people you do not name. If you have an issue with someone on Y!A, take it up with a) them or b) Yahoo. And stop being so touchy and self-righteous. Or is that you being "bashed"?

Dellow, You are sorely mistaken. God Has spoken to people, read the bible you will see accounts. Adam and Eve, Moses, to name a few. It is not about being uneducated, it is about faith. Let me ask you this. Have you ever been to the Moon? do you know anyone who has? how about Mars, or Venus, or Pluto? So how do you know they exsist? That could all be a big conspiracy to lead the world astray. There are those who belive that the moon landing was all staged. They don't even have enough faith to believe that. If we go off your reasoning about God, maybe those people are right, Maybe there really was no Moon landing. Okay Dellow, get a better agruement.

Sorry, little Joey, but in the grown-up world not everyone agrees on everything. And even worse, not everyone is nice about it. For example, I saw a really childish post that listed the only reasons someone might reject christianity as:
1. hopelessness
2. jelousey (is that a word?)
3. confusion
4. pureposelessness (again, I'm not sure that's a word?)
5. a lack of knowledge

Oh...wait...that was you, Joey. Wake up! The world doesn't revolve around your religion.

because it reminds that there might be a right and wrong, and if it's true, then one day they will be held accountable. They don't want to think this so they resort to dismiss it, poke fun at it, promote questions that attack it, to chip away at its credibility. anything to dismiss that Jesus Christ it true.

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

look at your question, the haughty ego you display, the insulting assumptions you make and ask yourself what it is you'll be reaping. you and Christians like you reap what you sow and wonder why you must reap it.
