If a church wants to sell cars to raise money for the church, do they need a dealers license?

Are you talking new cars? If the cars aren't straight-up donated, then yes, they do need a dealers license. I am also glad to find one other person on the net who can spell the word "license." Mad ups for being one of the smartest people on Yahoo! Answers. Which isn't saying much, but you get my drift...

I'm not sure about other states but in TX if you sell more than 12 cars a year you must obtain a dealers license even if its for charity

yes. If they are selling cars for any kind of profit on a regular basis then a dealers license will be repuired.

. Depends on your state laws. In Massachusetts if you sell one car for profit you need a license.

Yes, technically they are dealing cars for profit. Even if they don't keep the profit, they are making one (then giving it away).
