NCL cruise lines has one in February to the Mexican Riviera for $549 a person. It is an eight day cruise. I can personally vouch for NCL lines they are great. We use them all the time and as a matter of fact we just may be taking that very same cruise ourselves in February. It leaves from Los Angeles. NCL treats it's passengers like royalty and is also freestyle cruising, unlike the other cruise lines. Freestyle, meaning that you have the option to dress up for formal dinners or not, and you are not grouped with the same set of people at a set time for dinner every night. They do have two formal nights each week, but again that is an option and is entirely up to the individual if they want to dress up. So in other words you can still dine in the fancier restaurants on the ship and eat the good food they provide, but you can dress casual if you want. We prefer to be casual on a vacation, so we really enjoy that aspect of NCL. I hope whatever you wind up choosing you have a great time. I am pretty sure you will. Cruises are so much fun!

There are several cruise lines to choose from. I believe the best 6 to 9 day cruise for your price going to Mexico from Los Angeles or San Diego in February is the Diamond Princess. You have rates as low as $499 including port fees. The Diamond Princess was built in 2004 versus Norwegians ship (Norwegian Star) which was built in 2001.

Don't overlook the Carnival Pride - she's a beauty! She does 7-night cruises from Long Beach every Sunday, and goes to Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. Carnival is a great line for the 25 - 45 year old age group. Lots to do, good food, and great entertainment, plus Carnival has the largest standard cabins at sea - 185 sq. ft., compared to the average of 155 - 165 sq. ft. Watch the cabin sizes on other cruise lines! Cruises start here at about $600 pp.
I've been on Carnival and they give you the biggest bang for the buck!
Good luck finding a last minute special. Go ask a good travel agent who specializes in cruising.

Try searching on a site like expedia.com
It lets you put in your requirements and helps you find the different options by each of the famous cruiseliners. Also, you can probably get better deals on last minute cruises
