I want to study in Torino, Italy but i am getting mixed reviews. Some people say the city is nice and others say there is not much to do and not very touristic. I will be studing at the University of Torino. Does anyone have any opinions or information about Torino, Italy and me studying there???. Feel free to email me also. Thank You

Compared to Roma, Firenze or Venezia, sure, it's less historical, much more modern and some might say less fun. It had a bit of 'cold' feel for me when I was there; the town always reminded me of Giorgio de Chirico's paintings. That said, I thinks you will find a lot of interesting things and places in a foreign country. And Milano is just an hour's train ride away. Valle d'Aosta is not far and a nice place to visit, and France is not that far, either, if memory serves me right:-)

You are going to study Italian language and culture you don't need a touristy spot. I don't know if there are a bunch of tourists or not. Learn to live like the Italians that's why you are going. If you want see the tourist things do that on the weeks or something. I would not pass up the opportunity. Go have fun and you will never regret it...only if you don't.
