Just put neosporin on it, and don't give any pain med, so that he doesn't use it until it is healed..

My dog had something similar, she had a bloody spot on her paw in like the nail bed. And, what had happened was she had gone outside & a seed had gotten up in her paw & caused an absess & infection.

We took her to the vet & they checked her out & had us soak it in hydrogen peroxide to get the infection out

My suggestion to you is to take your puppy to the vet & see what your vet has to say

Good advice above, but I would also add to make sure your puppy gets plenty of supervised exercise and freedom outside the taxi, so that he won't be so hyper when he has to be inside.

make sure you trim his dew claws with some nail clippers so they dont grow into his/her skin - make sure there isnt a crack in his nail /claw(whatever) that might have gotten some fabric fibers or hair caught in it. some dogs just wind up pulling a nail half out

I know it has been said before, but you really need to have the vet look at it. There is probably something you just can't see. Don't let the poor pup suffer any longer, please. I know you love him and want what is best for him.
