A lot of people in my life... family, friends and docters have expressed that they feel I really am "mentally insane"... Usually friends and family joke around saying it but I know there is always a little truth behind a "just kidding". I personally think I'm more sane then anyone I know. Just because I say things or do things doesnt mean i'm insane. Im just more open with myself then other people. Am I right?

Example: If there was an option of legally eating human cooked flesh... I would try it.

Example: I find cemeteries to be peaceful, especially late at night.

These are just 2 examples of how I feel.

Is it because i'm diffrent that others think im insane?

I think you are pretty much normal. I mean eating human flesh, it sounds revolting, but you are merely being honest by admitting to a "taboo" type morbid curiosity! I think more people would try it than would admit! I also find cemetaries very peaceful , and a lot of people I know feel the same. They creep out some people, but again, you are just expressing an opinion and being honest! You're not crazy for being honest, you may have off the wall ideas, but expressing them makes you who you are. If you are really worried about your sanity, see a therapist...but you sound comfortable with your views and yourself. Good for you! Most people cannot be so honest! (Im a picky eater, so if human was on the menu, as rabbit, or venison, or lamb, I wouldnt eat it...just the idea of eating certain things makes me feel sick....but thats me!) People are most likely intimidated by your honesty. Give a few more examples of why they call you insane, Ive been round the psych wards...so I could help ya out some more...lol, let you know if you seem to be insane. ; ) Take care. BE YOURSELF!

First - There is no such diagnosis as "insane." In the offical giant book of psychiatric disorders and problems (DSM), you will not find the word "insane" among them. Insane is more of an insulting, general, stereotypical word, not a valid or accurate medical label for a person.

Second - As long as you are "different," someone who disagrees will call you insane. Learning to ignore these people is the key to happiness.

If doctors are saying you're insane, you might want to ask them to be very specific. What behaviors are they referring to? What characteristics are they basing this on? Are things in your life (relationships, jobs, addictive behaviors) being negatively affected? If so, you can see a therapist, perhaps get medication help, but as lucid and well-spoken as you seem now, I doubt that you have any chronic disease that's untreatable. If you really have a problem, help is available.

I would recommend that you see an unbiased, professional counselor or psychiatrist and get a real diagnosis, if there is one. If they pronounce you offbeat, unusual, and healthy, then sc**w what everyone says and march to your own tune. You will be happier.

Well I am with you on the whole cemetary thing, but unless i was shipwrecked on a desert island with no food in sight and the other passengers are slowly dropping dead from malnutrion because the only thing we had to eat was three coconuts, two papayas, a pack of wrigleys gum, and a condom, then I think I would go ahead and try to bar-b-que up some human flesh... but only under those circumstances. Nah, yer not nuts, just a little confused. There are other countries and cultures that eat people, why, look at missouri... hee hee, just kidding. Seriously. talk to a therapist and have a cheeseburger! you will be fine... I hope

Sorry to tell you, but people who are really insane almost always aren't aware of their insanity.

There is a very fine line between insanity and eccentricity, and you seem to be on the border of that line.

Also, insanity would prevent you from living a normal and healthy life, which once again you would not be able to know if you were in fact insane.

Without knowing your specific circumstances, I think you are just a little eccentric and perhaps in need of more attention that you are getting from your family and friends, which could well explain why you are always acting different from anyone else, so as to get their attention.

Hope you are sane!

I would not be comfortable with the notion of eating human flesh and I submit that most would agree. If you really feel that way, perhaps you might want to discuss this with someone you trust.
One would hope a cemetery to be a place of peace. In my youth, I spent some evenings in several. I would approach this in a respectful manner. We are all different. Society determines what is acceptable. Society may not always be correct but, that is how societies normalize behaviors.

People are afraid of different. Because you think differently than others doesn't mean you are insane. Most people will call others crazy or insane as a cover-all for anything they don't understand. I would know, my parents are going to counseling to decide if I am really psycho or not.

sometimes i hear voices--no they are NOT in my head, thank u--at nite in my room. i tell ppl and they back away and look at me funny. i suppose somethings just aren't *meant* to be shared...i doubt that ur insane, dont worry. nothings wrong with cemeteries. i mean, its like saying that your beautiful backyard that u buried a dead pet fish in is peaceful. its fine. PS is eating cooked flesh really illegal?

If you are serious with this question I would say you are just very different then the average person's thoughts.
On the other hand if it's a joke of some kind then you need a new hobby.

"Sane" is not only a very relative term, but vastly overrated. Be yourself.
