Congratulations on your kitty (and being a "responsible" pet owner). They neuter kittens much earlier now than they used to. I think ours was about 5 months old.
You can check with your local Humane Society, some of them offer "low cost" clinics where you can have your kitten neutered at a considerably lower price. I think they advertise here for around $25.00. If you take him to the vet to be neutered I think it may run over $60.00. Depends on where you live.
Best of luck to you both!

I'm not sure of the age when a male kitten can be neutered, but it's pretty young, I think. Your best bet is to contact your local SPCA or Animal Shelter and ask if they have a low-cost spay/neuter clinic, and get all the information from them. Our city has such a clinic (SPCA) that is quite affordable. In addition to spay/neuter, they also give the cat any necessary tests, like for feline leukemia, and shots. I got everything done for one of my cats, plus pain meds and a microchip, and it was around $100 for all. The other male just had his shots and neutering, and it was $58.00. Animal clinics usually charge much less than regular vets, and the services/procedures are just as good. They simply want you to keep your pets healthy and reduce the pet population. Unfortunately, not all kitties and puppies find good homes such as yours. Good luck, and enjoy your kitty!

How old was your kitten when you got him? A good age for your kitten to be fixed is no younger than 6 months.
The cost is probably going to be around $100-$150.

You should have your cat neutered at 6 months. This is the point at which your cat reaches sexual maturity. If you wait longer, you risk your cat getting out and breeding. Also, the longer a cat goes without being neutered, the higher the risk is that they can develop different types of cancer. The cost can range from $30-$130. Your best bet would be to call your local Humane Society to ask them.

Congradulations on your new kitten and for being a responsible pet owner and getting your kitten fixed, it can be done as early as three months old, the most afordable place is at a animal rescue shelter and is around $30.00 plus shots there, and they take very good care of the pets. Best Wishes.

photos at about age 4 months, 6 months and 7 months. also, that is an extremely good theory to have them dewormed. that is only a one time pill the vet provides. and for me became in basic terms $6.seventy 5. it really is an finished life pill. The vet and the humane society suggested to get him neutered at age 6months not quicker. Their body hasn't developed till then and it could be risky to neuter, infections and such. i'd call your close by humane societies and ask for a chit coupon for neutering/spaying. also, they could refer you to a more cost-efficient vet or hospital for this. the following in Oregon the fee for neutering a male is $40 5 do not study about ladies, yet i comprehend that is type of more effective. I even are turning out to be in on a chit day for fixing and receives $10 off.

Your cat should be one year old.....
Make sure you find a good vet because it could happen the surgery is not well done and your cat will have medical problems all his life or his short life.
It is not such a simple surgery and this is why a good vet is necessary..
I know in the usa you can find places where the cost is less than others..

When I had my cat, the vet said that he had to be at least 10-11 months old before he got neutered. The cost was (I believe) ~ $100-150, and that was a few years ago.

Cats can be neutered as early as 8 weeks of age (though that is considered a touch on the early side). They reach sexual maturity by 6 months though, so try to do it before then!
Here is a website of free/low cost services in California: http://www.lovethatcat.com/stca.html
A good way to find a vet that you will trust is to ask your friends or neighbors who are pet owners.

Call your local humane society or shelter, and see if they have any vets they recommend, they should be able to give the names of atleast a few (or pick up a sheet of names and numbers at the shelter) and call around.
You can also call your local better business bureau to get info on vets in your area.
