Most of the grenades and equipment that Iraqi insurgents use, is generally a POS and very unreliable. Much of the time a RPG round will not detonate because all of it is so old.

I would pick it up and throw it if it were in a urban or enclosed environment with buddies around me.

But if it were somewhere not so open or with no buddies around me, I would pick it up and toss it. I say toss because toss is like a quick fling, while throw is like a power-full time consuming throw.

It is totaly possible to pick it up and throw it, just hope the enemy did not cook it.

No, you need to see if it works first, and then if it doesn't work, you can return the grenade to the offending army for reuse. You know, recycle it for the good of the battle to come.
Strange question however, in a peace loving country like this one, why would you have grenades throw at you?

It has been done , but it is best if you fall down flat and try to roll away as the grenade will burst in a cone shape , so if you are several feet a way you have a good Chance of not getting any shrapnel,

It's possible, but a better idea would be to crawl away as fast as you can, staying real low to the ground. You just don't know when the grenade is going to go off. If you pick it up and it goes off, you just killed yourself.
