Yogurt is a great diet food, as long as you choose plain nonfat. (The fruity, sweetened yogurts are as bad as ice cream). It's high in protein and calcium and is a pro-biotic, that is, it enhances the good intestinal bacteria.
As for drinks, I'd suggest you avoid artificially sweetened ones. Sugar substitutes have the effect of heightening your sugar cravings. Stay with water or herb teas.

Everyone else has addressed the yogurt issue quite well, but with your salad, be careful what dressing you use. Try eating your salad with vinegar and oil or lemon and garlic and oil, rather than dressing. Also--forget the diet drinks, just drink lots of water. Anything with sugar in it just jumpstarts your food cravings. And water is cheaper.

yogurt is fine. Good in fact, but be careful, some brands have a ton of sugar in them, even ones that say 'light' so check the lables. Dont worry so much about losing the weight though, eat right and exersize regularly and your body will figure out the rest.

Dairy in general is fantastic for dieting-- it helps you drop fat, contributes to bones & muscle building...
But non-fat cottage cheese is better than yogurt in that it has more protein. It might also have fewer calories, can't remember. You can also drink 2% milk if you don't like skim.

Do not add toppings, of any kind, as long as you just eat yogurt of the light in fat and calories variety, then you are fine. Frozen or non, just don't add toppings.
