Ive always wanted to get an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. I dont know EXACTALLY what i want though and its driving me nuts!! Definately the devil and angel because that's my personality....ive been that way my whole life and ive wanted that tattoo since i got my first one done almost 4 years ago.
I already have one on my lower back of a tribal butterfly.

Everyone has the angel/devil thing in them, but I see a lot of those done on shoulders. And I see the design/concept a lot in general, seeing how I work in a tattoo shop. So if I were you, I would go to a great extent to make your stand out.
You don't have to use an angel and devil to express each side of you. Think of it more as good and bad and go from there. Type 'angel tattoos' and 'devil tattoos' or 'good and evil tattoos' into google image search and take what you find to a tattoo artist. Keep in mind, if you like, oh lets say teddy bears, you could get one evil one good. You don't have to use defined images for this either. A large flame could show one side where as a cloud and sun can depict the other. Just collect ideas and have the artist sketch out somethin for ya to better suit your style.
My version of this is going to a very small halo and a larger pitchfork and flame because my evil side is more prominent.

I've heard from several people that a design for a tattoo will come to you instead of you going to it. I got my tattoo from this website. I was looking for tattoo designs and I found a leprechaun stealing a pot of gold and decided to get that. I had gone through a lot of ideas before deciding on that one because it fits my personality and I'm also irish. I am thinking about getting an album cover on my ankle. I was gonna get something on my ankle and decided on an album cover instead of what I was gonna get.

I think that's a great idea!! I have the Hot Stuff devil on my left lower abdomen, that really hurt there and on my left leg I have the angel.

I have one on my leg of a angel cherub flying and holding and holding the devil cherub by his tail. I like mine very much, I think I have a picture of it if I find it I'll let you see if you want.
