I've been a vegetarian for my whole life (17 years). I eat healthy lots of veggies (of course) fruit, tofu and beans for protein. I was wondering if this is healthy or would eating meat help me live longer?????

Any diet that gives the body the nutrients and calories it needs to survive and sustain itself is a good one. It's not what you eat, but how much you eat (or don't eat).

A vegetarian diet can be very healthy... the trouble is, many young vegetarians tend to eat a lot of McDonald's french fries and not get enough of the nutrients they need.

I would not say you need to start eating meat for your health: indeed, if you never have had meat, you might have trouble digesting it! Make sure you have ample protein and a varied, nutritious diet and you will live as long as anyone could want.

Vegetables can't give what meat does. No two ways about. For proper nutrition eat a balanced diet....Just like being a meat-eater only would be bad.

Take a nutrition course and see for your self how important meat is in your diet. Or you can just listen to these militant vegetarians who have a hang up about eating what our bodies are naturally designed for due to an irrationally distorted personal view about meat.

Pure vegetarians are typically sickly people, vegetarians that also consume "supplements" are usually healthier but choose to use synthetically engineered chemical products to substitute for god given natural meat.

Be logical-be healthy.

As long as you're taking your vitamins, yes.

Oh and McDonald's fries are cooked in pigs' fat so they aren't vegetarian.
