Colorifics and Touchups have wonderful shoes but you have to find a retailer to purchase them.

Hey there,
I'm in the same situation you're in. I am also having a church wedding and originally I wanted open toe. However, I have converted open to closed toe. My specifications were that it had to be 2 inches. 1 inch feels too small, 3 was too big, 2 felt right. I wouldn't feel bad spending a little bit of money on them, however, on my search, I came upon the perfect shoe for me, and you'll never guess how much! $20 reg on sale for $12.99 right now. Where? Payless! The only drawback for me, is that they are not availabe here right now (Ontario Canada) as its fall/winter season. AND, I can't order from the website, as it's only available to American residents. Sooo hopefully this shoe will be available in the spring. Or I may just have to talk an American friend into getting them for me and sending them to me, lol..I really want these shoes, fitting for the occasion, and hey, a LOT cheaper than I would have expected.

Hopefully that works, if not, go to the payless shoe website, click on women's, dress shoes, page 5. They are the "satiny dress shoes" ... check em out :)

Open toed or closed toe doesn't matter. Nylons with either don't matter, regardless of what anyone else might tell you. Your shoes will be buried under pounds and pounds of wedding dress. No one will see them, and the only time they might is when the garter is removed, and even then they'll be too far away to see much of anything.
So wear whatever is most comfortable for you. Comfort is the most important, since it's a bad idea for brides to take off their shoes at the reception. This changes their height and makes the dress drag on the ground, and people are likely to step on it and rip it. Be comfortable!

The same rules apply for choosing shoes for the bridesmaid.
1. Comfort. When you try the shoes on walk around the store for a few minutes. If your feet don't slide or the heel doesn't flop every time you walk and it they are easy to walk in and are what you want...Then get them.
2. Do not wear a heel over 3 inches.
Anything over 3 inches for long amounts of time are killer on the tootsies, especially while standing.
3. Choose the shoe that you like. It doesn't matter what style.
Best place to find a supply of bridal shoes would be a bridal boutique/store. If you have to visit every store in town to find your shoes, then that's what you'll have to do. I personally like to buy my shoes from a store where I can try them on before I buy them. That way I don't have to make time to drop them off to be sent back and wait for another size. And when you visit a store you can take your dress with you. The web is a great place for ideas of what you might want and then go to the stores to find them.
I go to church on Sundays and I wear open toe, sandals, heels and boots to church. As far as I know, there is no rule on what shoes are allowed to wear to church.

Wear what is comfortable for you. If your dress covers your feet, wear White or Ivory slippers. And no open toe shoes is not tacky for a church wedding. Try Davids Bridal

why would open toe shoes be tacky? I have never heard that before, have your toe nails painted a pretty colour to match your colour scheme and that would look very sweet. Just make sure they are comfy, the last thing you need is blisters on your wedding day.

I was just married 1 month ago, and here's my advice:
Regardless of the style, wear something that is comfortable. I thought that shoes I had purchased would be great...until I had to wear them for 3 hours, and the ceremony hadn't even started yet!
Also, stay away from the killer heels--you're going to be anxious/nervous enough! You shouldn't have to work with a full dress AND high heels!
In conclusion--no one is going to see your shoes and if they do, they aren't going to care.

For my wedding, I wore close toed, mary-jane like shoes. (I have big feet and had a hard time finding ivory shoes!). After the ceremony, I switched shoes and wore flipflops the rest of the night.

It depends if you want to wear nylons. For example im going to wear those nylons that go like half way up to your thighs so im going to wear closed toe shoes. if i wasnt going to wear that than i would wear the open toe. try davids bridal they have shoes there. but good luck

a wore a VERY comfotable pair of sandles. Thong sandles actually. They were white & brand new. I had a long dress on. Noone even seen them. I origionally wanted to go barefoot (I'm kinda a hippie) but I didn't. Wear whatever you think is most comfortable! Thats what I did. If your wearing a long dress, noones gonna see them anyways!!!
