Islam: Submission to the will of God.
Muslim: A follower of Islam, submission to God. A person who submits their will to God.

Doesn't it look like these words should be revered and respected, instead of hated? Muslims don't hate non-Muslims. Let me repeat myself. Muslims don't hate non-Muslims. I hope, I hope, I hope there will be peace some day. God willing, there will be a time when we will learn to love each other the way God intended for human beings to love one another. I am always hopeful. Please God, let there be peace some day in the world. Amen.

I have not problem with the decent ones as well. I've found that they exhist. lol. Brother, it is true that a lot of them do insult us, but I think somehow it makes us stronger, don't you? I pray for them as well. And the ones who approach me in peace, I befriend and respect.

I am not a follower of Islam, I am also not a critic of those who are. Another person here said it best, a fear of what they do not understand. I get that too as a Wiccan (and a Comanche to boot). The so called "Modern world" is basing what they believe about Islam on the actions of radicals. That, to me, would be like basing everything Christian on the Crusades & Inquisition. I know enough to realize that in basis Islam is a religion of peace. Christianity is suppose to be based on peace too. But in all honesty, I don't think peace is HUMANLY possible. Mostly because people can not accept or respect differences. :(
Peace be with you!

We live in a world dominated by very conservative ideals, unwilling to accept change or diversity. Plus, there is a radical minority in Islam that is painted to be so much more than it really is. Hence the discrimination, anger, and hatred against Muslims.
I extend my hand to you in friendship and hope, like you, that someday there will be peace in our society. But with the way things are going, and I hate to be the pessimist, things probably won't change. It seems to be in human nature to distrust what is different, to dislike change.

First off as a Muslimah woman I thank you. You are one of the few people in the world who actually bothered to look at what Islam is, May ALLAH bless you. Yes the reason people take offense to Islam is because they choose to be blinded by lies told to them by the media and Jews. And they believe everything they hear and don't bother talking to Muslims to get the truth.

Actually, I don't take offence. I love them (not literally.) In fact, I think they are good words. I mean, Muslims aren't trying to kill us all, only some are. And they do that for religious purposes, too. I mean, we Europeans have persecuted each other for OUR religion, now we're feeling what it's like to have people wanting to kill you in the name of whoever they believe in.

Its good idea if a person submits his will to God.

But if he tries to submit the will of others to God, then I am not with you.

I believe in freedom of expression and a freedom to follow a religion.

i completely agree with you, but its hard for some people to accept any beliefs different than their own. i think people should realize that every culture and/or every religion has positive aspects that we should focus on instead of always pinpointing what we think is wrong with them. if you should encounter a culture/religion which you don't agree, simply don't take part in it, but also don't be disrespectful towards it and/or its members.

Because, as it always is in this world, the ones who are least representative of their culture/religion/race/gender are the ones who speak the loudest.
