Capital punishment is premeditated killing.
As a Christian I am morally opposed to killing regardless of the situation.
I also believe it is morally wrong to force me to pay for the state to kill people.
OK, it's only 3 sentences.....so kill me.

My brother was buying milk for his 3 children - ages 1-6 when he was murdered in a robbery attempt of the Convenience Store.
They gave the shooter the death penalty but it was overturned because our liberal Governor proposed & lobbied a law that has overturned the death penalty for every robber-murderer in our state after law was passed. It was an insult to his family. In the last 9 years in prison other than having to pay for his upkeep, he has stabbed 2 men, gotten into numerous fights, even broke his lightbulb several times while on death row. Lights are never off since they have nothing to lose but the guards have their lives to lose. He is due for parole in 6 years, how safe will you feel? The death penalty is a deterrent for hardened criminals, nothing will stop crimes of passion. We should trust the jury that hears the cases. Will mistakes be made, probably but definitely the rare exception to the rule since DNA evidence. The cases that have been overturned were before there was DNA testing.
I do not think anything other than murder should be punishable by death. I do believe if you take a life, you should forfiet your life.
Why should taxpayers pay for a lifetime of food, medical, dental, guards & etc. for a killer? DNA testing makes mistakes very very difficult to happen, if not impossible.

The law determines if the death penalty is appropriate. If the proscutor goes for the death penalty, then it's up to the jury to decide in the sencetening phase of the trial. Juror are asked if they can vote for the death penalty during the jury selection process. If the crime carries a death penalty, it's a case of the law and thus juries select the death penalty, and should. Then there will be appeals.

The punishment will matter upon the situations. I.e. go dressing, exhibiting sexual affection, rape, sexual harrassment, and so on., and so on. not in any respect heard a guy taking to courtroom for being gay in basic terms. This human being became continually fascinated in different type of activities considered a criminal offense. For rape capital punishment might want to be done. I trust you, a persons' sexual orientation should not be all and assorted's organisation so long because it really is taking position in privateness, grown united statesin contact in basic terms and no one receives damage. Take care.

Not until they start getting convictions right. It is embarassingly absurd that so many convicted rapists and murderers are being exhonerated via DNA. I've always supported capital punishment but now I think it's time to revamp the system.
Besides, it now costs taxpayers more to execute a criminal than to keep them alive for 40 years.

there was a time when this country had 147 crimes punishable by death now we have only 2 or 3 the result of this leniency , over crowed prisons more crime, more expense[money taken away from needed areas,to give crims soft living lives] it is argued that these people have 'rights'.........oh?....and how about the little girl that was raped murdered and then dumped into a waste pile..........she didn't matter ? want to avoid these serious consequences .......................DON'T Do THE CRIME

ANY sentence should be served, whether its capital punishment or two months in county jail. If you get sentenced, you should serve. Parole should be done away with, its a joke!
