as much as it's not overt, I think that sadomasochism is the basis of christianity--disguised as martyrdom. They take great power and enjoyment in their sufferings, and believe it to make them godlike, or at least jesus like--they all have their crosses to bear

Ask the 18th century guy called Marquis de Sade who was obsessed with the idea of gratification from pain whether self inflicted or not. Sadism and derivative expressions are based on his name 'Sade'. He was a little punk who knew nothing mate.
Why pick on Christians? Why not pick on people who enlist for the Army, Air Force and Navy? Or people who endure pain in Sport, Extreme Hobbies and Combative Sports? What about people who get pleasure from watching people suffer, whether in the street after an accident or in a movie?
Just curious, nothing more.

You have an interesting question, the definition of perversion is that which is outside societal norms so yes by definition S&M is a peversion. However, Christ died on the cross (FYI im not christian) and he achieved the kingdom of heaven through it he achived the next life through pain, therfore purity can be achieved through pain, this is the premise that bouds groups such as Opeus Dai. To trancend pain is the ultimate achievment of enlightenment. The bounds of pain and it purity to god depend on your intent. Pain for self forfillment is part of the fallen world, pain for disociation from the every day world is not

If you derive pleasure from pain, it is so, and not a perversion except in prejudiced eyes of those who don't.
As far as "is it Christian?"-well definitely, the suffering on the cross, the passion, it's in your face, isn't it? Catholics are particularly keen on it.
If you are curious than you'd do better to research it outside this largely "sound bite" forum, it's an interesting subject.

As God is punishing the whole human race for the natural inborn curiosity of the first pair on Earth, I would have to say that God is the original sadist. God in not just a Christian concept however I do not know enough about other religions to tar everyone with the same brush.
The Bible teaches that we are all God's children. Children learn by example. We are therefore learning the sadistic side of things and He says accept, have faith, enjoy.
To answer your question, YES

sadomasochism would not unavoidably propose rage/anger inclinations. possibly she desires anger administration. sexual discomfort is way diverse than discomfort discomfort, so supply it a shot, yet draw up limits. (Eg, no blood or needle play, electric powered wonder, stuff like that) You both desires to envision limits, create diverse secure words (one meaning supply up each and every thing, decelerate, or i don't love that) and persist with them. My spouse and that i and by no skill use gags because "tapping out" (hitting gently in a series to assert "im finished!" can incredibly be skipped over or perhaps no longer felt contained in the warm temperature of all of it. undergo in concepts, in case you both elect this, do it effectively, and the sexual discomfort will be large. that's diverse than emotionally or bodily hurting. Be open and prepared to hit upon.

While there are the rare sects that go around whipping themselves, I think for the most part we're supposed to endure pain with a positive attitude. But we don't need to seek pain out like sadomasochists do, it comes often enough on its own.

No, wouldn't think so. It definitely is a perversion and yes pain is part of our fallen world.
