If a state where you're taxed into the poor house, run off of the road by aggressive drivers and the elected officials are all crooked is hell then yes.I moved here last year and I HATE New Jersey. You take your life in your own hands every time you get on the road(the roads that are in such disrepair you can barely drive on them).I have a case pending against someone with the Ocean County Prosecutors Office and I have to call every few days to make sure that someone is still looking at the case.14 months and no indictment yet.
The roads in my county are barely drivable with all of the pot holes and faded street signs. Then you come to an intersection and three lane so traffic try to kill one another for the same lane.We have the highest insurance rates in the United States because noone here can drive.I hate New Jersey and I'm leaving as soon as I can(I'[ve only been here for 19 months). The worst place to live ever.Hell would be a welcome relief from Jersey. I've lived in NY and CT.I'm moving back to CT next year and will avoid even driving through there even if it's the most direct route to where I'm going.
I think Jersey intentionally makes you get lost on the highways!Half of the exits that are exit only don't even say that. You can get off to try to turn around and end up going ten miles out of the way just to get back to where you started getting lost. The parkways are lttered with tolls and Jersey is a huge petrochemical rifinery state. They get revenue from the tolls and the gas sales.

Hey now! I was born & raised in Jersey. South Jersey is gorgeous. Lots of farm country and some of the safest towns in the country. Just check the list out. The mountains are breathtaking and you've got the beach. If you want culture, Manhattan and Philly are a spit throw away. South Jersey is the perfect place to raise kids.

I once heard a mission worker say that Camden, New Jersey was the armpit of the United States. He never compared it to hell though.

No, I was born and raised their. Its all just a cultural thing one must learn to adapt too. When I moved to California I was a little miffed that people didn't understand how to arbitrate or yell at each other like the Easterners do. We use hand gestures and yell at each other. You just need to understand the culture. Their are alot of good people their just like anywhere else. I think the Italians brought that kind of thing with them on Ellis Island and ingrained it into our culture but it doesn't mean they are mad at you in the least. Its all culture that's all but I imagine from a birds eye point of view it must look and seem pretty brutal when in fact it is not the case in the least. We do have nasty mean people too just like anywhere else so don't just say we have the nastiest people, actually New York City is worse!! Smile! I love the Eastern Culture and miss it very much sometimes.

Jersey has some cool areas -- monmouth county and cape may are excellent. Camden and Newark and other places are not. But only a small percentage. You have the shore, NYC close by, and A.C. a relatively short drive away...

If you are noticing that there are so many hellish conditions on earth then you are actually making spiritual advancement. This is not our home we are in Maya or the land of Illusion. We have to be finished with this miserable place if we actually want to go back to the spiritual world. The quickest way to raise your consciousness is to chant the Maha mantra (Mantra for deliverance) Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare ON 108 Beads 16 times around.. (about 2 hours) this is the Yuga Dharma or the process of liberation in the age of Kali (quarrel and Hypocrisy) go to www.stephen-knapp.com for more info and to www.krishnaculture.com
