you could have what is called a dry socket, where the clot fell out and the socket has become infected, try rinsing with salty water, it's the best of all mouth washes as an antiseptic, but i would recommend getting into the dentist a.s.a.p to check nothing is wrong.

Infection will cause a not so pleasant taste and odor.

It is possible that you have an infection. As long as you follow the homecare instructions given to you, you should be OK...but there is that possibility.

Since it was a few days ago that you had the extraction it is OK to rinse now. Make a solution of warm water and salt and rinse with it a few times a day or after you eat. This is not a solution and you should contact your Dr. so that he can put you on an antibiotic if needed.

It's probably just from the blood, but if you're experiencing a lot of pain you could have dry socket or an infection. rinsing with warm salt water will help - I think listerine is too strong right now, might want to wait a week for that. I thought my mouth would never get back to normal after my wisdom teeth were pulled out. ugh! good luck.

Might have been an infection near the tooth. Rinse with warm salted water every 30 minutes or so. Great for cleaning infected areas

probably not in just two days. did you change the packing like they told you to? your mouths saliva will keep it pretty clean, even though your mouth is filthy with bacteria.
if your on any painkillers, shame on you for not sharing. but really, they can make your mouth dry and taste weird.
i wouldnt worry about it unless its not looking good in the cavity when you change the packing or you feel any pain.

yes its possible....rinse your mouth with peroxide and water ( one cap of peroxide in 1/2 cup of water)...do this several times a day for a couple of days and it should get better...if it starts to hurt go to your dentist.

Yes maybe. Rinse with salt water and get antibiotics if it gets unbearably painful.
