This is one of those wonderful, and annoying, things about being human. Our attention is most focused on things when we have a reason to want them. This seems obvious, but the term "taking things for granted" is prevalent for a reason. When you have something in your hands, you know it is there, you know that you can do with it what you want, when you want, so you have no need to pay attention to it. If that thing is no longer in your hands though, you can not do what you want with it, so you have a reason to pay attention to it.
This is a broad generalization of the idea... but I think you understand what I'm getting at. As far as feeling guilty, this is actually very similar. If you feel guilty, it is because you did something you don't think you were supposed to. That's usually something a person can't just forget about with any kind of ease. When you do something that makes you feel guilty about a person, you have your feelings of guilt COMBINED with your feelings about that person. You take that negative feeling of guilt, and it only amplifies any positive feelings about the person.
We are such silly creatures...

Id like to know this too! I was in the Marine Corps for 9 years and my wife and I couldnt be happier. She stayed by my side faithfully deployment after deployment, 3 of which were combat tours! I get out for good and she couldnt stand me! We are divorced. Women suck......... or dont suck enough!

When you are with him, you can't miss him. So, when you are away it makes you realize it bc you are lonely. I feel that way when I am away from my husband and kids. I love the getaway, but love the return ten fold!

I think you realize what you have when its not around and we can't see how much we love if it is always around us. its is human nature to take what you have for granted sometimes. as for guilty... not sure thats on you.

I think you really do love him and you are so used to being around him that you feel like you need him when you leave him. I understand. This is not infatuation. You really love him. Awwww!
