I'm in high school and there's this boy in two of my classes. We go from this one class to another and for four minutes while we're walking we see each other. I look at him and he looks at me but we never say anything.
I try to break the ice but nothing comes out of my mouth. We are both kinda on the shy side...but not too shy. I don't think he has a gf and he might like me.
Do I drop my pen and see if he picks it up? Do I ask him if this weeks football game is at home or away? I'm not sure, I want to build up a friendship before anything else happens.

You're on the right track trying to find a friendship before anything. =) That's how me and my bf got started...lol ANYWAY just be like "hi, where do you hang out during lunch" or something lol i'm not that good at it either (i usually have guys do that kind of stuff) but just talk about something that can bounce back and forth between both of you. it'll help. and smile!

dropping your pen is cute, but probably won't move you too far forward. Just go up to him and say "hi, wuts going on?" ask him about football. if its home, asks him if he wants any company (if hes not on the team, in which case you could go and cheer him on). its hard to break the ice, i know, i am dealing with a similiar problem, but once its done, everything else is natural. just be brave and go for it!!! good luck and have fun.

If you don't know his name ask him what it is, where he's from. Sure, ask him about the football game and if he's going. It doesn't matter what you say, really, just find some way to talk to him.

Go ahead and ask about the fb game. talk bout recent fb games and your fave fb plays or parts of the game! you might go through a huge conversation and totally forget your shyness.
