WOW , look at that.....miss "I heart horses" there just completely stole my answer from a previous question via "copy and paste" and is passing my words off as her own.

My answer is about the GNC UltraNourishair and ProCaps labs capsules...

I have taken the GNC pills for 4 months and supplemented them with extra Biotin because they only have 1200 mcg of Biotin and you should try for a minimum of 2500 micrograms.

I am switching to Procaps labs capsules when I run out of the GNC because Procaps formula has more Biotin in a more pure form with more of the trace elements that support healthy hair growth.

I take about 5000 micrograms which equals 5 milligrams of Biotin daily and my hair is growing fast and thick and dark.

Try to avoid using heated appliances to your hair no more twice a week.
Add moisture to your hair at least two times a week.
Use a wide tooth comb and natural bristle brush when styling your hair. Do not over brush your hair. This will cause your hair to stretch and snap off.
Message the scalp and hair line area and temples with a hair dressing made with natural herbs and vitamins. Message with the balls of your fingers. This will help the blood circulate which stimulates the hair follicles which increases hair growth. Do this at least two times a week.
Do not use hair dressing or products that contains alcohol, petroleum jelly, beeswax, ammonia.
Wrap up your hair nightly.
Dr. Miracles has excellent hair products and so does Mane 'N Tail. I use both.

It pretty much goes back to the basics. To maintain the health of your hair, keep your hair shampooed and conditioned, keep your ends trimmed to avoid split ends, keep your hair moisturized, wrap your hair up at night and sleep with a silk scarf, bonnet, and/or satin pillowcase. Do deep-conditioning and hot-oil treatments to add extra moisture every once a month. Try to keep alot of heat off your hair by letting it air dry and wearing styles that don't require you using heat. Eat a well-balance diet, drink lots of water, and take a muti-vitamin supplement to aid in hair growth. Just sometimes doing simple stuff in regards to ourselves really make a difference in the growth and health of our hair.

There are really no secrets, you just have to find what works for you. My hair seems to benefit from washing it a lot. Some people claim that washing black hair too much can strip it of its moisture, but keeping it fresh and clean of residue and dirt works for me.

Try Doo-Grow products as well. I like the shampoo.

I really enjoy this forum: www.longhaircareforum.com - It's a forum primarily for african american women where they dicuss their own hair care tips and secrets. I grew out my hair naturally for the past year and a half. My hair grew out so much and my "secret" was wearing my hair in protective styles (braids, sew-ins, etc) and really moisturizing my hair. Ultimately everyones hair is different and grows differently but it's nice to see what other people are doing.

First find a good beautician. I usually get my hair relaxed every 6-8 weeks. The Bronner Brothers have really good products as well as Motions and Isoplus. It is good to keep the scalp greased to prevent breakage. Pink Oil is good to use on the actaul hair. Pantene also has a good line of products for women of color. Cholesterol is good to use for a deep conditioner.Never relax your hair before 6wks.But it is best to use professionals. Good Luck with nice healthy hair.

If you want hair to grow faster, you have to take supplements that work on your body chemistry to support hair's growth and strength at its genesis.....once it has grown out, it is just dead keratin
Try GNC, they make a supplement called "Nourishair" in formulas for men and women..they are HUGE pills and you have to take 2 daily. There is also a "Hair skin and nails" formula from Andrew Lessman that you can google, that has great ingredients and is easier to swallow, made by ProCaps labs. You can also take large doses of Biotin, sometimes called Vitamin H, take no less than 2500 micrograms daily to support healthy hair growth. It may take 6 to 8 weeks to see results.
As to the cost of Nourishair, it is about 10 dollars for a one month supply.
