Yes, no problem. I did daily for a couple of years while leaving in a country majoritary Muslim. Even the burger joints we love to hate sell their wares using halal meat (they have no choice really).
The only difference is that animals slaughtered using Western methods in developed countries are stunned first. After that their throat is also cut to let the blood out (this is true of pigs and bovines).
The meat prepared according to Jewish ordinance is said to be "Kosher", not halal.
Halal and Kosher meat are obtained in accordance with certain religious rites, the knifes and general kitchen implements should not come in contact with non-halal/kosher food, etc.

you would be suprised how many of us eat halal meat without even realising we are. In places like Leicester where there is a large muslim/asian community most of the meat sold is halal you dont get a choice, its all you can buy in the supermarkets, you would have to go to a small family type butcher to get meat that is not halal. people are given it without being given the choice because it is what is demanded by other religions. if you gave a muslim meat that is not halal they would not know cos it doesnt taste any different. its just another of their demands!! whilst in their own country (which is very hot) and refrigeration is not accessible in some places, it is essential that all the blood is drained from the animal to avoid it going bad, this is where it originates from. If the animal is not stunned it struggles when its throat is cut therefore the blood flow does not stop which therefore drains more blood out of the animal. no need for it in this country though, but again it is US that are not given the choice. Personally i think its cruel and unnecesary and i dont buy meat if i know it is halal I doubt whether anyone would agree with it unless they were a muslim or a jew

I have eaten Halal meat. Not too happy about the animal having it's throat slit, hope it gets stunned first. Tastes no different from normal meat

Absolutely not. The halal method of slit and drain prolongs the animals suffering. Barbaric!!

Halal meat is not "blessed" by another religion...it is processed within the guidelines approved by that religion. Actually halal is one of the strictest ways that meat can be processed, and one of the most humane. I do not hesitate to eat halal meat, and enjoy immensely the mutton samosas that I can buy at the shop down the street.
