One of my kittens has been exposed to this one blanket...he's never been around it before I dont think. But whenever he gets around this blanket...he bites on to it, and then starts..like pushing his paws, from left to right, in a slow motion. Like kneading the blanket almost, haha. He doesnt run off with it, or even tear away, he remains with a piece in his mouth and just slowly doing that to the blanket for minutes...

Why is he doing this? Is this sexually charged act? Is it something with this blanket?!

I have no idea why that particular blanket, but the kitten is attempting to nurse. The kneading motion is what kittens do to their moms to cause the milk to flow.

There's nothing wrong or sexual about it. It sounds like what kittens do when they think they're nursing on someone's finger or earlobe. It's not hurting the kitten, but it does seem cruel to let it think it's nursing on a blanket.

the kitten is trying to nurse. he's sucking on the blanket and kneading it like his mother's breast. the material must feel the same texture as his mother felt. i had a kitten that would always try to do that to a soft flannel nightgown. it's very comforting to the kitten.

Nothing to do with sex, the cat is just making the blanket comfortable to sleep on. Cats of all ages do this.

Weird, my kitten did the exact same thing with my blanket. It probably means he is really comfortable.

He's nursing. I know it sounds odd but that is exactly what he is doing. It's normal, especially if it is a young kitten. And yes, the blanket may be a tecture that he really really likes.... lol....

first if all...cats all ages do this..my 2 persian sister cats who are now about 7 years old ....do this to my blanket or any blanket /cloth they see is comfortable for them to sleep with.second of all, some cats do this to make their nails sharper or to massage the muscles that are around their nails so that they can flex better later on...third because they do this to make them sleep...like when a person does alot of exerecise or soemthing and he gets tired and sleeps fast...

and no its nothing to do with sexually charged act...

We call it "making biscuits" because its like they are kneading bread. My cat does it too. she was a rescue kitty that we weened too young, i think that probably why she does it. Its a nurturing thing.
