Hi there...unfortunately, any antifreeze ingested in any form will be lethal for cats. Would you be able to ring your vet to arrange for an ER visit? Perhaps a friend/neighbour or neighbour's/ friend's parent, who can drive you to the clinic?

The amount of ethylene glycol the animal consumed is very important in determining the success of treatment. Animals do not responding favorable to any treatment when they have ingested too much. Treatment is based on decreasing the absorption of ethylene glycol from the stomach and intestine and increasing its excretion through the kidneys. Preventing metabolism of ethylene glycol to glycolic acid and calcium oxalate and correcting acidosis of the blood is also very important.

The first step would be to administer apomorphene or peroxide solution to get the pet to vomit up any poison remaining in the stomach. The pet is given water between medications in order wash out the stomach thoroughly (gastric lavage). Then administer activated charcoal to bind with any poison that is left.

Large amounts of intravenous fluids (IV) to increase urine production and excrete as much ethylene glycol as possible.

I truly hope your cat will be alright if seen quickly.

You need to get your cat to the VET like NOW ....or to your local animal shelter if need be ...Antifreeze can be deadly to any pet but especially dogs and cats ...cause they have a hard time smelling it ...An animal must be taken to the veterinarian within 12 hours of ingesting antifreeze. After 12 to 24 hours, kidney failure will occur, followed by lethargy , coma, then death.
In freezing weather, the only water that's not frozen may contain antifreeze. so don't allow your pet to drink from puddles..ever !
Prepare to tell your veterinarian or poison experts your pet's breed, age, sex, weight, number of animals involved and abnormal signs your pet is exhibiting. Call your veterinarian and take your pet to the veterinary hospital immediately, or call the National Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 4ANI-HELP or (888) 426-4435. NOTE : Know that you must pay a fee when calling the Poison Control Center. Consult your veterinarian before inducing vomiting and be sure to get exact amounts of emetic to use.

Try mixing in some with your dinner tonight and see what you think! If someone did poison your cat with antifreeze, I hate to tell you this but it's fatal. You need to take your cat to the vet NOW so the vet can make it as comfortable as possible because it's a very painful death that doesn't happen right away.
This is exactly why people shouldn't let their cats outside! I feel sorry for the animals but not one bit for their owners. You should have known better.

Yes, antifreeze is very harmful or fatal. Can you call one of your friends to take you to the vet? What about a taxi? You really need to have your cat seen and treated asap.

Hope you make out ok with this, good luck.

Yes I'm sure it is. The best thing to do is call a vet for advice. You can try getting your cat to drink milk, sometimes that helps with poisoning. If it wont drink on its own, use an eye dropper to get the milk in its mouth--if you don't have one, use a drinking straw, put in glass of milk, hold your finger over top, and insert straw in cat's mouth, remove finger so milk comes out. Or use a small spoon, open the cat's mouth, and spoon the milk in.

If you think your cat might have antifreeze poisoning take it to the Vet IMMEDIATELY. Even a little anti-freeze can be deadly to a cat. Their body cannot process this poison and it causes all of your cats organs to shut down and DIE. VERY BAD!

GO TO THE VET NOW!

Why do you ask stupid questions that I'm pretty sure you already know the answer to? You try not eating for a few days, maybe then you'll figure out why cats eat food.
