Just thinking about having Zoom whitening done before my wedding and I wanted to know how much I should expect to pay and how long the whitening lasts!
Thanks!

Zoom is a brand name of a light-activated whitening system. Expect to pay from $500 to $650 for a session lasting about 2 hours. Your teeth may be sensitive (from a bit of a twinge to real pain) for a few hours after.

Typical results are 7 to 10 shades lighter than before.

Studies are begininng to show that Zoom doesn't do much better than wearing take-home trays with a bleach solution, but there are some people who want the results in a hurry.

Tip from a pro: watch for dentists running a promotion for free or reduced cost Zoom. Also, if a few people from your bridal party do Zoom, a practice might give the bride a free treatment.

Or, put it on your gift registry.

Your teeth will always be lighter than before, but much of it depends on your diet and other habits. Smoking, and eating high-staining foods (like coffe and red wine) will stain your teeth eventually. Touch up kits are usually included with Zoom treatment.

I am going to agree with emmalue on this one. We charge $595.00 in my office for Zoom. I personally am not a huge fan of the Zoom system. The company that makes it claims that patients will get up to 7-8 shades whiter. The most I have see is 5-6 shades. Smoking, drinking coffee or tea, and just age all are factors in how long it will last. Most people do have to do touch ups with trays every 4-6 months to keep the white look up. I think that the take home trays work as good or even better. I have seen people have much whiter teeth with those than with Zoom.

I would ask alot of questions about the Zoom and make sure that you know what you are going to be getting into before you do it. Be aware that it does cause sensitivity for about 12 hours following and that you will be laying in the chair for about 1 1/2 hours with your mouth held open. Since the gums have to be covered with a barrier, it is really important that you stay very still. I have had patients wiggle around and move their jaws and cause the barrier to separate from the gums, and the gel has leaked under the barrier and burned their gums. So make sure you stay still while it is being done.

The price for Zoom depends which country you are in. I have been using Zoom on my patients for the past 3 1/2 years with fantastic results. I have seen shade changes from 6-15 shades. Zoom lasts aslong as you maintain it. Home whitening trays are provided after Zoom and if you use these once a month with solution you can get from your dentist your teeth will stay white.

The traditional rate within the subject I paintings in is $500-800 and that entails take house trays to contact up. It will final many years, however all whitening demands to be maintained. Depends to your conduct-espresso, tea, soda, staining meals. The outcome fluctuate, can also be fine for a few no longer so fine for others, is dependent upon what colour you're beginning with.
