I'm trying to figure out how much experience someone could have with .Net if they started working with it as soon as it was released to the general public.

Cannot remember the release date - but should be easy to figure out using some web research.

Yet, I remember having had the 'privilege' of using .NET Framework well over half a year before it was release because the company I worked for back then was a local partner of Microsoft Switzerland and MS needed some .NET projects to include in their portfolio.

Later on, when RC1 (release candidate 1) was made available to MSDN subscribers even more people started using .NET before release.

So, add about 3/4 of a year to the time that has passed since the official release and that'd be your answer (that leaves out people at Microsoft that were actually designing the framework ;) )
