What do you prefer?

What is your fav. brand?

I personally prefer Jack Daniels with coke (which apparently isn't true bourbon).

But a single malt (Glenfidich or Macallan) on the rocks or drunk neat is the best drink ever!

I'm a scotch girl. I drink it neat. I'm newer to it, I've only had the same bottle that i keep on hand: an 18 year old Talisker. Oban is fantastic as well, the 12-yr-old for sure. I will soon be trying some sherry casked styles too.
I don't like bourbon, but found I do enjoy Makers Mark. If you are in Chicago ever, a GREAT place to go & blow your money on trying a great variety of great scotch is the Duke of Perth. Try doing a city search where you are for scotch or whiskey bars & try those that most bars don't carry to find out what you do & don't like.

I have tried a few Scotch's in my day but don't really care for the boggy taste. I am however a huge Bourbon fan.
Blanton's Bourbon is a really really good Bourbon, best had straight or on the rocks, never mixed. Same goes for Booker's.
Jim Beam, Old Grandad, Old Fitzgerald, and others are fine with mixes. Maker's Mark, was my first taste of high quality Bourbon, and I generally drink it straight but it does make one heck of a good tasting Maker's and Coke. Love Jack and Coke, but it's not a true Bourbon.

I think a good single malt Scotch beats any Bourbon. But if you are going to pour coke in it don't waste a malt, blended whicky or bourbon is good enough -- though Jack Daniels isn't a bourbon.

The malst you mention are good, but there is such a variety flavors in malts. How about Laphroig? My everyday single malt is The Inchgower.

Scotch most definitely. Macallan rocks on and if you can afford it, Johnnie Walker blue is amazing.

As for bourbon, nothing is better than Jack Daniels!!!

Whiskey is only Bourbon if it is made in Bourbon county, KY. Jack is made in Tennessee.

Favorite bourbon - Maker's
Favorite blended scotch - Dewars
Favorite single malt scotch - Dalwhinnie

Booker's has to be one of the ultimate small bourbons, and at 129 proof I'd say it can't get much better than that. Anyone caught mixing it down with anything but water or rocks should be shot, cause the stuff is not cheap.
