Yes you can. However, I wouldn't leave it in the "can" it may make your soup taste like metal over time. Rather, put the soup in a plastic container with a lid on it, or use a Ziploc bag and freeze immediately.

I prefer the ziploc bag method, that way if you choose not to use it later you can toss it out easily. Also, it's more difficult to get soup out of containers when frozen whereas, with the ziploc bag you just run the outside of the bag with warm water for a few seconds and WAALAAH, the whole soup comes out of the bag and into your pot. Or you can just cut the bag with scissors and peel it off.

WARNING: When placing the soup in a Ziploc bag in the freezer, make sure it is sitting UPRIGHT, not too hot, and not too full to prevent the seal from opening.

Yes, although the cream will separate upon thawing and it will look like somebody horked in the bowl.
