My 3 girls still give me no privacy what-so-ever!! My girls are 13,10 and 6. I guess that's a thing of the past. The doors would be banged down if I kept them shut for too long.

I was having this problem, too, and our solution was to make ONE of the bathrooms the "ALONE" bathroom. Anyone, even my children, can go in there alone without fear of being disturbed. The other bathrooms are fair game. Trying creating one "sacred space" and define the rules for that place so everyone is on the same page. Your privacy is important (as is theirs) and you will be teaching them a great lesson to honor the privacy of others.

I think by the ages of your children they should have the respect of privacy.
You are going to have to keep the door shut and locked until they begin to learn to value of privacy. They didn't learn this behavior overnight, and they aren't going to be taught to respect your privacy behind closed doors overnight.

Stay consistence and good luck

my mom got sick of me being in my room and locking ymself in for hours at ia time and it really pissed her off....now, what she did was she took my door down. but what i think you should do is have them all put into the same room for a week. they are to come home directly from school. sleep and dress in that room and anything they have to do they do together. yes, its a lack of privacy but they will get SO frustrated and you should basically ignore any complaints they give you.

after you have kids, well things just change and keep changing!!!! I have 3 kiddos myself and I know exactly how you feel! My only daughter that I have (3) she is always following me and if I shut the door and lock it, oh my gosh! she is banging on it, well you know. I don't know what else to say, but to laugh! enjoy them!

I know what you mean...I have a 13 year old girl, and she follows me everywhere!
Don't get me wrong, I spend time with her, talking about school, problems with friends, helping with homework, etc; but I get no privacy, no alone time. Drives me crazy!
You are not alone!
