I am on psychiatric medicines that cause it hard for me to think clearly and logically so i was wondering if there are any programs on the internet that i can download that will help forge new pathways in my brain and help my overall brain power? Also I only want to buy the program if you have tried it and it works.

Read a book.

Any new activity that challenges your mind is likely to encourage neural growth. However, don't expect that just because you engage new pathways that you will feel free of the affects of your medication. Every neuron is the same, so the drug's effects are likely to corrupt any new pathways. An increase in pathways may help with processing speed.

My question is, how, if you have trouble focusing, do you expect to concentrate long enough to achieve this?

I don't know about a down loaded program but I would without a doubt recommend reading a book called Self-Matters. I think you will be amazed. I am a long time survivor of anxiety and long term depression. I have been on medication after medication for about 10 years now. A friend suggested I read this book. It, in a way I never thought possible has taught me so much about who I am and why I ended up where I did in life..(nowhere).)
I know you are looking for a down loadable one and I am sorry I cannot help with that but I will tell you that this book has been my cure all! I never was a fan of Dr. Phil but after a lot of research and reading the book which includes writing a lot of stuff down(lessons). I love the man. I feel like with that book, I have finally, although the road is still long, to a point in my life that I know I can totally take control of it.
I wish you the best and I would hug you if I could. I know what it's like to suffer. If you ever need an ear, just message me anytime.
Good Luck,
~T~

If you want to get into logic and reasoning, you will find little that will help you out more than chess. Try FICS (free internet chess server), and use "BabasChess" as a client for it. You'll be butting heads with bishops and rooks in no time.

Why not pick up a book of crossword puzzles to try and help yourself focus? That's what I did, and now I'm addicted to those puzzles and have become quite good at them!
